INFANT POLICIES

Kids’ Stay ‘n Play provides an environment that promotes social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Your infant will benefit from the stimulation the center offers. Center staff will offer a variety of activities and locations for your infant within the area. Please do not ask staff to confine your child away from other children or in the car seat, crib or swing. For infant safety, diaper bags and/or plastic bags cannot be left in a child’s cubbie during his/her stay.

 

DAILY INSTRUCTIONSTop

 

  • Infant Feeding Forms and Daily Instructions must be completed by parents at check-in.
  • Label items needed for your child’s stay with 1st and last name.
  • Include date on all food items. Items are placed into a personal cubbie; food, diapers, change of clothes, and Infant Report Form.
  • Report the cubbie number to the Supervisor.

 

DHR requires parents to bring prepared formula and to provide all infant food and feeding plan instructions. As soon as your infant is ready we ask that finger food replace infant food . He/she will benefit in small motor development and sense of pride by being able to participate in feeding him/herself. Staff will encourage the use a spoon when developmentally appropriate. While bottles may be warmed in a warm water bath, food from home will not be heated.

RESERVATIONS Top

 

Non-walkers under 18 month and all children under 12 months require a reservation. Charges start at the beginning of your reservation. Early arrivals will be admitted if ratios allow. Call if you foresee you will be late returning. Staffing may need adjusting for the extra time.

 

PRE-PAY FOR 2 HOURS (MINIMUM STAY) REFUNDS IN THE FORM OF A GIFT CERTIFICATE ARE GIVEN FOR CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE or with a Dr.’s note.

 

 

RATIOSTop

 

Infant ratios will vary with 1 staff for 4 to 6 babies depending on activity level. State Rules require 1 teacher for 6 infants. During arrival times in the morning and departure times in the late afternoon/evening ages are mixed. Infant ratios are maintained.

 

MEALS AND SNACKS Top

 

Free snacks each morning, afternoon and evening are provided (except for infants, see infant policies).

 

  • USDA approved meals are served. DHR requires all children to be fed at meal time. Meals not included in your rate plan must be paid for on a daily basis. Centers that are funded by the CACFP Program serve fee meals and snacks. Meals brought into the center must include a fruit, vegetable, protein, bread and milk.
  • Finger food is preferred for younger children.
  • Send food that will not need to be heated. If you send food that needs heating the center will substitute a Center meal and you will be charged.

 

If food requirements are missing from a parent provided meal, a supplement will be provided at an extra charge. CHILDREN UNDER 3 MAY NOT BE SERVED GRAPES, PEANUTS, WIENERS (INCL. TODDLER MEAT STICKS) AND FISH W/BONES. SOFT DRINKS, CANDY AND GUM ARE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE CENTER. STATE DHR RULE.

 

DIAPERING AND TOILET TRAINING Top

 

Provide disposable diapers or pull-ups and a change of clothes (labeled with your child’s name). Include socks. The center charges for these items.

 

  • Diapers are continuously monitored. Every 2 hours the computer generates a list of all diapered and toilet training children to ensure no child is missed.
  • When your child is changed or taken to the bathroom, it is recorded whether he/she was wet, dry or had a bowel movement.
  • Should your child’s clothes become soiled, the center will place the soiled clothes in a sealed bag for you to take home at the end of the day. The center does not launder your child’s clothing.

DO NOT BRING OINTMENTS OR POWDERS. THE CENTER PROVIDES WIPES. IF MEDICATED OINTMENT IS NEEDED, A PRESCRIPTION FROM A DR. AND COMPLETION OF THE MEDICATION FORM IS REQUIRED.AT CHECK-IN.

 

STAY HEALTHY Top

 

Sick children are not admitted. Do not bring a child with any of the following; fever, runny bowel movement, vomiting, cough, running eyes and/or nose, heavy congestion, any contagious condition (including conjunctivitis, ring worm, impetigo, lice, scabies, strep throat, or undiagnosed rash).

 

IF A CHILD BECOMES SICK DURING THE VISIT, the child will be separated from the other children. You will be notified to pick up your child. If you are not reachable, enrollment form contacts will be called to pick up your child. If your child contracts a noticeable communicable disease and may have exposed children at the center, notify the center. We are required to notify the county health department. A list of communicable diseases is located at the front of the center.

 

FEES AND TUITION (SEE CENTER RATE SHEET FOR DETAILS)Top

 

  • We accept Cash (prior to 7 p.m.), Debit Cards, & major credit cards. Checks are not accepted.
  • Late fees apply to check-outs after closing.
  • We participate in the Georgia CAPS Program. Parents pay the difference in the Center Fee vs. CAPS subsidies the 1st day of each week.
  • A DAILY NON-PAYMENT FEE APPLIES TO TUITIONS NOT PAID THE FIRST DAY OF ATTENDANCE . YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK-IN YOUR CHILD IF YOU HAVE A BALANCE DUE.
  • Hourly Rates apply to Drop-In Care and are rounded to the next quarter hour.
  • Daily Rates apply to hours used in one day.
  • Weekly and Monthly Rates are offered.

Registration Fees allow participation in daily, weekly and monthly rate plans.

 

 

CHECKING INTop

 

Sick children are not accepted. See our HEALTHCARE/SICK POLICY. If symptoms develop after check-in and you are not available to pick-up your child we will call the emergency contact people listed on ER form.

 

Label all belongings, change of clothes, bottles & food w/ 1st & last name and date, diapers and pull-ups. Items not accepted into the center; diaper bags, clip/ribbons attached to pacifiers, baby head bands, tie bibs, glass bottles, jewelry, gum and/or candy, soft drinks and toys from home. We do not assume liability for items left or lost . Items are placed in lost and found shortly and then donated.

 

Escort your child to the check-in gates (Bright from the Start Rule).

 

Complete the daily information; phone # where parent can be reached, name of person picking up your child and any special needs your child may have that day and instructions regarding meals. (DHR REQUIRES CHILDREN REMAINING AT THE CENTER AT MEAL-TIME MUST BE SERVED. MEALS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR RATE PLAN MUST BE PAID FOR DAILY.

 

Socks are required (available for purchase).

 

Your child will need; change of clothes, diapers and/or pull-ups, extra socks and food for infants. These items will be placed into a personal cubbie for your child. NO BAGS INCLUDING DIAPER &/or PLASTIC.

 

MEDICATIONS . Only prescription medications in the original bottle w/child’s name can be administered. Medications can only be administered according to the instructions on the bottle. Written authorization on the Bright from the Start approved form is required each day. Parents will be notified of any adverse reactions observed.

 

 

CHECKING OUTTop

 

Present your photo I. D. Children are released only to pre-authorized persons with a photo I. D.

 

Pay for all charges pertaining to your child’s stay. Miscellaneous items not included in your rate plan must be paid daily. Non-payment fees are added for each day a balance is left unpaid (maximums apply). See rates.

 

After check-out procedures are complete, the Supervisor will unlock the door . PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE GATE.

 

If your child is at the playground, obtain a Playground Pass & collect your child’s belongings. Present the pass at the playground to receive your child. At the Roswell Center you may drive to the end of the building by the Dry Cleaners and at Gwinnett and Dunwoody drive behind the building.

 

EXPECTATIONS Top

 

Children must be able to play independently, to follow verbal directions (cooperate), respect personal space and property of others and use appropriate language.

 

Parents must make presence known upon arrival, inform center of any changes for ER Form, provide required items each visit, be courteous/respectful, use appropriate language & follow all policies set by the Bright from the Start Rules.

 

Staff must obtain a satisfactory criminal records check prior to employment, maintain CPR/1st Aid Certification, love to work with children, abide by all Bright from the Start Department of Early Care and Learning & Kids’ Stay ’n Play Rules and Regulations and participate in on going training.

 

Disregarding center policies (child, parent and/or staff) may result in discontinuation of Center Services.

 

 

EMERGENCIESTop

 

Emergency Plans for severe weather and fire are posted throughout the center. In case of a power failure affecting climate control or any other event affecting safety, parents will be notified to pick up their children. Keep the center posted on your emergency contact number on a daily basis.

 

ACCIDENTSTop

 

In the normal course of a child’s activity, it is possible that an injury/accident may occur. Parents will be notified.

 

On the child’s enrollment form parents authorize the center to secure medical treatment from County medical services. If professional medical attention is secured and expenses are incurred, submit the charges to your insurance company.

 

Kids’ Stay ‘n Play does not assume responsibility for injuries due to a child’s normal course of play.

 

DISCIPLINETop

 

Children are expected to follow verbal instructions. Any child who does not respond to verbal instruction will not be served. If your child refuses to cooperate with the group or violates another child’s space, he or she will be asked to spend a short time away from the group. Staff will talk to your child about appropriate behaviors for the future. If behavior does not improve it may be determined that Kids’ Stay ‘n Play cannot meet the needs of your child.

 

CRIERSTop

 

If a child cannot be comforted, a parent may be called to pick up the child. KSNP will work with parents by limiting the length of the child’s stay until the child is content.

 

ENROLLMENTTop

 

Children are accepted who will benefit from a group setting. Any child with a physical or mental handicap will be admitted on an individual basis. After a trial period it may be determined that the child may not profit from this service and other arrangements must be made. We will not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, origin or creed. Complete all blanks on enrollment (ER) form; doctor’s name/phone, emergency contacts and release authorizations w/addresses and phone numbers. Inform Center of mid-year changes in writing. Immunizations records are required (no longer than 30 days). Provide updates as administered.

 

SAFETYTop

 

For the safety of everyone, the gates are locked. The Supervisor on duty will unlock the gate for you to enter & exit the center. Your I.D will be required at every check-out.
